GTA 6: regional versions, Japan & Game Informer stills

Ahead of the planned 19 November 2026 launch, gaming outlets have reported regional product codes for physical PS5 boxes, a Japan-specific download-code window, and a Game Informer feature with fresh screenshots. Here is our lab digest — original wording, careful attribution to the gaming press.

At a glance

Grand Theft Auto VI is planned for 19 November 2026 on current-gen consoles. Alongside the countdown, gaming press coverage (including NotebookCheck and Game Informer’s schedule) pointed to Rockstar Store backend signals — new regional SKU / product codes for physical PS5 editions across roughly seven regions (e.g. DUT / Netherlands, UAE, AUS).

Those codes alone do not prove censorship: they more often track age ratings and local content rules around violence, drugs, gambling and nudity. Japan’s physical PS5 packaging reportedly carries a download-code expiry, and Game Informer plans a digital issue plus subscriber preview on 29 September 2026 featuring Jason & Lucia on the cover and previously unseen screenshots.

Physical PS5 regional versions — what is actually known

Press reports on regional SKUs · attributed to gaming media · no invented Rockstar policy

Example regional codes reported in the press — not proof of censorship
DUT NetherlandsUAE United Arab EmiratesAUS Australia~7 regions reported

According to press reports, Rockstar Store back-office systems showed new product identifiers and regional codes for the physical PlayStation 5 edition of GTA 6 — about seven regions. Examples cited include DUT (Netherlands), UAE and AUS.

In practice such codes usually map to local age ratings and differing content rules — not automatically to a heavily cut game. Sensitive series themes already go through regional regulators. A code by itself is not evidence of censorship; treat that leap as speculation.

There is series precedent: Japan’s GTA 5 adjusted some adult content for the local market. That does not mean VI will be trimmed the same way everywhere — only that Rockstar can ship tailored SKUs when required.

Some Middle East storefronts may lack preorders because of platform, regional or age rules, while the game is otherwise widely available for preorder. An ESRB rating had not been assigned at the time of those reports.

Japan note: boxed download code with an expiry window

A Japan-specific physical PS5 detail: reports say the download code in the box expires roughly 170 days after 19 November 2026. Rockstar’s site carries a warning — so buyers need to redeem inside that window rather than storing the code indefinitely.

That fulfilment model is familiar in some physical markets and is separate from censorship debates. If you import or buy second-hand, check the code terms before you pay.

Game Informer: screenshots, weather and wildlife in Leonida

Digital issue + subscriber preview 29 Sep 2026 · Jason & Lucia cover

Per the published schedule, Game Informer plans a digital issue and subscriber preview on 29 September 2026; print copies are shipping too. The cover features Jason and Lucia.

Interview topics summarised by the press include the Leonida map (Florida-inspired) and dynamic weather: trailers already showed strong sun and heavy rain. It is still unclear whether districts get unique weather that affects missions.

Fans are also watching for an animal ecosystem in the spirit of Red Dead Redemption 2 — alligators, dolphins, deer. Hunting and fishing remain unconfirmed. The GI feature reportedly includes about 12 previously unseen screenshots; Rockstar’s own last screenshot drop was around 1 September. Character progression for Jason and Lucia is still thinly documented.
