GTA 6 · Upgrading a PC for GTA 6 — where to start

GTA 6 launches on consoles on 19 Nov 2026. There is still no official PC date and no Rockstar PC system requirements. You can still prepare: find today’s bottleneck and upgrade in a useful order — without fake “guaranteed fps” claims. At PCone Lab in Netanya we run diagnostics, tell you what to keep / replace / sell, and if needed build one of four configs: Leonida Keys from ₪4,999 to Mount Kalaga from ₪22,099. Numbers here are workshop estimates, not Rockstar specs.
1. Screen first, then GPU — 1080p / 1440p / 4K drives the card class. See 1080 vs 1440 and VRAM. 2. NVMe SSD — open-world streaming loves fast storage (1TB+ target). 3. RAM — under 16GB is risky; for 1440p + Discord aim at 32GB. 4. GPU / VRAM — 1080p estimate → Keys (4060/5060 8GB class); 1440p → Nights (12GB+); 4K/stream → Grand Heist; long horizon → Mount Kalaga. 5. CPU / motherboard — very old / DDR3 platforms often cost more to piecemeal-upgrade than a new build. 6. PSU & cooling — new GPU needs headroom; dust and temps matter.
Upgrade when case/PSU/board are fine and you mainly need GPU/RAM/SSD. New build when the platform is ancient, you want 4–5 quiet years, or you’re on a mid-range laptop (console or desktop is more honest).

The GTA 6 release date is known — but your hardware has to be alive by then. An overheating console or a PC below the requirements will ruin the most awaited evening of the year. Both are solved in advance: parts are often made to order, and around launch we have a queue.
