Even if PC arrives in 2027, waiting until the last minute is a mistake. Here's what to look at.
Graphics card. This is the bottleneck 90% of the time.
Anything below an RTX 2060 or an RX 5600 XT almost certainly won't run GTA 6 even at minimum settings. If you're on a GTX 1060, GTX 1070 or GTX 1650, you already know what needs to change first.
For 1080p, aim for an RTX 4060 or RTX 5060 with 8 GB. For 1440p, at minimum an RTX 4070 or RX 7800 XT with 12–16 GB.
RAM. Less than 16 GB isn't worth trying.
16 GB is the bare minimum. Real comfort begins at 32 GB, especially with a browser, Discord and streaming running in parallel.
CPU. Anything older than a Ryzen 5 3600 or a Core i5-9600K is questionable.
Top-tier GPUs will bottleneck on an aging CPU and deliver half of what they could. If you're on LGA 1151, early AM4 or 8th-gen Intel, you're almost certainly looking at a motherboard, memory and CPU swap together.
Storage. GTA 6 will be large.
Estimates start around 150 GB (Eneba). Putting it on an HDD is pointless — load times will be terrible and world streaming will stutter.
You need an SSD, ideally NVMe. Best case: a dedicated 1 TB or 2 TB NVMe for games.
Power supply and cooling. GPU upgrades often stall on an old PSU without the right connectors or headroom.
An RTX 4070 wants a quality 650–750 W unit; an RTX 5080 wants 850 W and up. Add a case with real airflow — GTA 6 will keep your system hot for hours at a time.
Windows and drivers. GTA 6 will almost certainly require Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit) with current updates.
Older Windows 7/8 builds are out of the picture.
The practical logic is simple: on a 2019–2020 PC with a Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 2060, you're looking at minimum settings after a GPU swap and a RAM top-up. On a 2015–2017 PC with a GTX 970 or GTX 1060, it's cheaper to build fresh than to patch it piece by piece.

Who it's for: you want to launch GTA 6, play on a 1080p TV or monitor, and not overpay for what you won't use. Smooth medium-to-high settings without stutter are the goal.
What's inside (approximate): Ryzen 5 7600 or Core i5-13400F, RTX 4060 or RTX 5060 8 GB, 16 GB DDR5, 1 TB NVMe SSD, 650 W PSU, quiet air cooling.
Why this way: it's the reasonable floor for GTA 6, not a cheap build that'll sag in a year. The GPU handles 1080p 60 fps in current titles, DDR5 keeps the upgrade path open, and NVMe kills load- time complaints.
Plus the PSU has headroom — if you want to upgrade the GPU in a year, you only replace the GPU.
What it protects you from: the temptation to build even cheaper on an old DDR4 platform with a GTX 1660. That will boot the game — and choke on memory and bandwidth from day one.
Price: from ₪7,999 — assembly, stability testing, Windows install and warranty included. The final price depends on component prices at build time.
Who it's for: you play on a 1440p monitor, want a stable 60+ fps at high settings, and want the Vice City neon to look the way Rockstar intended. You play regularly and don't want to reopen the case a year from now.
What's inside (approximate): Ryzen 7 7700X or Core i7-14700F, RTX 4070 Super or RTX 5070 12 GB, 32 GB DDR5, 1–2 TB Gen 4 NVMe, 750 W PSU, tower air cooler or AIO.
Why this way: this is exactly the "recommended" tier of predicted requirements — 1440p, 60 fps, comfortable high settings (Eneba). 32 GB isn't overkill; it's the 2026–2027 baseline.
Open tabs and Discord stop costing you frames. A Gen 4 NVMe handles world streaming — Leonida is huge and it loads on the fly.
What it protects you from: cutting memory or buying an 8 GB GPU at 1440p. 8 GB of VRAM is already a wall in current titles, and by the time GTA 6 hits PC, it'll be a bigger one.
Price: from ₪12,099 — assembly, stability testing, Windows install and warranty included. The final price depends on component prices at build time.
Who it's for: you have a 4K monitor, or you want to stream GTA 6 to Twitch/YouTube while playing without losing frames. You're buying a machine for four or five years and don't want to think about upgrades mid-playthrough.
What's inside (approximate): Ryzen 7 9800X3D or Core i9-14900K, RTX 4080 Super or RTX 5080 16 GB, 32–64 GB DDR5, 2 TB Gen 4/5 NVMe, 850–1000 W PSU, 280–360 mm AIO.
Why this way: 4K is a VRAM and GPU story first. 16 GB of GPU memory isn't a luxury, it's insurance — modern engines already hit 12 GB at 4K.
AMD's X3D chips historically deliver the highest frame rates in Rockstar's open worlds, where cache behavior matters. The big PSU and big AIO aren't for show — they're what keeps the system stable across four-hour summer sessions.
What it protects you from: the classic mistake of pairing a 4K GPU with 16 GB of RAM or a SATA SSD. The bottleneck moves, it doesn't disappear.
Price: from ₪22,099 — assembly, stability testing, Windows install and warranty included. The final price depends on component prices at build time.
Who it's for: you remember that GTA 5 lived thirteen years, and you know GTA 6 will do the same. You're building not for launch but for the entire lifetime of this game: mods, the eventual online mode, ray tracing, VR experiments, whatever major update Rockstar drops in year three.
What's inside (approximate): Ryzen 9 9950X3D or Core i9-14900K, RTX 5090 32 GB (or the flagship of the next generation at build time), 64 GB DDR5, two Gen 5 NVMe drives (system and games), 1000–1200 W 80+ Platinum PSU, custom loop or top-tier 360 mm AIO, a case with proper airflow.
Why this way: this is a machine that won't sag when Rockstar drops a major update or the successor to GTA Online — and Rockstar has confirmed it's building a creator platform and pipeline for user content (GamesHub). The point isn't max fps today.
The point is that five years from now, this config is still relevant, and ten years from now, it still plays.
What it protects you from: the "spend on the GPU, save on everything else" trap. At this tier, PSU, memory and storage matter just as much.
